Yes. Each portrait is created from your dog’s photo, with their features, markings, and expression preserved. Your portrait is also curated by a real person, and you’ll receive a preview before it’s printed so you can request changes if something doesn’t feel right.

Choose a clear photo where your dog’s face and eyes are easy to see. Photos that show the chest, front legs, or full pose often create the strongest portraits. Natural lighting helps, but most phone photos work well — upload your favorite and we’ll let you know if there’s an issue.

After you place your order, we create your custom dog portrait from the photo you uploaded. You’ll receive a preview within 1–2 days, and you can request adjustments before we print, frame, and ship it.

Yes. When your preview is ready, you can request changes before approving your portrait. We want the final piece to feel painterly, recognizable, and true to your dog.

If something doesn’t feel right, just let us know when you receive your preview. You can request adjustments before approval, and if we can’t get it right before printing, we’ll refund your order.

Your preview is usually ready within 1–2 days. Once you approve it, your portrait is printed, framed, and shipped. Most orders are delivered 5–7 days after approval.

Your portrait is printed on premium archival smooth matte fine art paper, dry-mounted to foam core for a clean finished presentation, and placed in the Classic Walnut Frame — a walnut-colored real wood frame with an acrylic front and a 0.875" wide x 0.875" deep frame profile.

The portrait size you choose refers to the printed artwork size. For example, if you choose 11x14, your portrait is printed at 11x14. The frame or mat may overlap a very small edge of the print to hold it in place, but the selected size refers to the printed portrait itself, not the outside frame dimensions.

You can also upgrade to the Gallery Walnut Frame + Mat for a larger premium presentation with a wider frame profile, black mat, acrylic front, and kraft paper backing.

The Gallery Walnut Frame + Mat is a premium upgrade with a larger walnut-colored real wood frame, subtle dark gold accents, acrylic front, black mat with a visible white core, and kraft paper backing. It arrives ready to hang and display.

The Gallery frame has a wider 1.125" real wood frame profile, compared with the Classic frame’s 0.875" profile. The black mat border is sized to match your portrait size: 1" for 11x14, 1.5" for 12x16, 2" for 16x16 and 16x20, and 3" for 24x30.

Each portrait is designed for one dog so the result stays clear, composed, and true to them. If you have more than one dog, we recommend ordering a separate portrait for each one.

We currently ship within the United States. Shipping is free on all Portrait Path orders.

If your portrait arrives damaged, contact us with photos of the damage and packaging. We’ll make it right with a replacement or another appropriate solution.
